This is one of those moments where I'm going to sit with my heart in my throat waiting. I was on the way to the post office when two police cars passed on their way to some emergency. They turned on the road I know my son was biking on and all I could think was, "he's been hit by a car." He of course didn't take his phone nor is he carrying any identification. As I stood in line at the post office, the picture that went through my head made my heart skip a few beats.
When he arrives home I will once again discuss the importance of his phone and why I purchased it for him. He will, of course, forget it all and leave it sitting on the table the next time he heads out.
Some day if he becomes a parent, he will understand why he, all on his own, kept the hair color business alive and well.

Oh dear - I know that feeling! Nobody warns you when you have children that you are unlikely to be worry free ever again!
